"Eponymous" LYRICS:

SOON
There’s a crack in the superhero comic book façade
I would laugh, but I’m deep beneath this shadow of my doubt
I can wait another day for the life I should be leading,
for the dues I thought I’d pay dreaming thru my days again
As soon as I can tell you, as soon as time will tell
As soon as I can feel again I’ll let you know
As soon as I am someone, as soon as I’m that strong
As soon as I can shake this sadness from my soul you’ll be long gone, I know
If it’s a game, who has been played and when I lie who have I betrayed by sleeping thru my dreams this way?
As soon as I am living, as soon as I am sure
As soon as I can feel again I’ll let you know
As soon as I am someone, as soon as I’m that strong
As soon as I can love you I’ll be back to you and never let you go

WEATHERMAN
I won’t hide and as a side I’d rather if you stayed
It’s much too late to brave the night alone that way
Far from me but I can see you just forgot to be
But I don’t mind cause I can sympathize
So don’t listen to the weatherman
Don’t shiver at the thought of rain
You don’t know down the line just what you’re gonna find
don’t listen to the weatherman, don’t pay no mind my friend
For who’s to say what turn the day is gonna take
So don’t listen to the weatherman
Don’t shiver at the thought of rain
and all these little ways we tie ourselves in chains
Don’t listen to the weatherman, don’t pay no mind my friend
The world outside might spin in spite of you and I
Hope is holding on to any reason she can find
Fear keeps creeping like he likes to do
After all the skies have fallen we’ll be doing fine
Knowing what’s in store for you and I
So don’t listen to the weatherman
Don’t shiver at the thought of rain
And shaking off the cloud that follows you around
don’t listen to the weatherman
Don’t pay no mind my friend
I don’t believe it’s gonna be as gray today

A BETTER LIFE
Concrete and baby screams, fast food wages 3rd world dreams, a better life
Dirty floors and filthy faces greatest sins the unwashed hordes
The pittance that you’re slaving for, a better life
Clean up Sundays, flock to God, celebrate his promises a better life
Consume consume & procreate, celebrate a better life
When it’s you alone you are the sum of nothing of value at all
Momma told you of her chains but you’ll be living just the same

YOU’RE DREAMING AGAIN
You kill yourself when you’re stoned, you’re so funny
We’d never know you’re alone from your smile
You wonder if you’re awake, you’ve taken all you can take
And don’t it always come down to the money?
the way you measure a man in your head?
You set your bar too high, you go unsatisfied
And what it means to me, it’s like poetry in the way you scheme
castles in the sand, but you’re dreaming again and when will you ever learn?
And never mind what they say, so you’re saying
You never gave them a damn anyway;
they found the best in you was only passing through
And you swear to me, and you promise me time after time that you’re gonna be alright, but you’re dreaming again and when will you ever learn
All you careful plans and your circumstance and your innocence never to return but you’re dreaming again and when will you ever learn?

"Eponymous" contains songs composed from 2002 through 2004.  I recorded with producer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist  Mark Towner Williams at his studio in gorgeous Midway, Utah.  Mark's credits are long and impressive, and he was an invaluable part of this record, playing not only drums but also Hammond C3 organ, second guitars, bass, mandolin and even cornet.  Mark and I started the process in late August ('04) with me and my Martin acoustic on a bar stool, jamming through about a dozen songs.  Some initial takes were keepers, while other songs called for more layering and tweaking.  We would hit it once or twice a week, about 3-5 hours at a time.  It was a blast watching these songs take shape, and this is a record I'm very proud of.

A few track notes: THEREFORE - I had a profanity ban for the longest time - what happened???  UNTITLED's Emaj7 courtesy of Michael McManus!

I would like to thank the people of Salt Lake and Park City Utah for opening their hearts and making me feel welcome here.  This upcoming ski season (Dec-Apr 04/05) I'll be pricing this CD @ $10, but through November, locals can get a copy for $5.  Without your support, this album probably would not have been made.
