recently had a rowdy and successful run at the
U.S.
Naval base in Sasebo, Japan. Invited by the Department of
Defense to entertain our servicepeople overseas, Tony, Mike,
Damian and Joey played 5 consecutive nights to hundreds of
sailors, most of which are stationed on board the USS Essex
and USS Belleau Wood.

"We had such a great week," says vocalist Tony Oros, "The
whole base welcomed us with open arms and we reciprocated by
pouring everything we had into the shows. The guys and I take
our military tours very seriously. These folks are so far from
home for so long, and we've gotten a taste of just how hard
they work. If we can pull into their base, put on a great show
and give them a touch of home for a night, or at least a break
in their routines, we feel we've contributed in some way."

Sincere thanks to the Sasebo MWR office for making the gigs
happen, and to the Security Forces on hand for not breaking up
the mosh pits!!!

Also in Sasebo entertaining the sailors was comedian
Dwayne Perkins, who has recently appeared on Comedy Central's
Premium Blend. An outstanding stand-up and a great guy -
drop by his web site!

Keep an eye on AFN for show coverage, call American Forces
radio to request tracks from "Words Are Kerosene", and feel
free to stay in touch with the band by e-mailing Tony directly.
Also keep checking back in here for more Sasebo pix.
